The National Elections Commission (NEC) has set 21st March as deadline for civil society organizations to submit their applications for elections monitoring. The Head of Observers at the Commission, Mohammed Abdel Daim, confirmed that they have received thousands of applications so far, adding that they are currently being studied.
The Liberation Movement for Justice, one of the Darfur factions, has threatened to boycott the Doha peace talks in case a bilateral agreement is signed between the Government of Sudan and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM).
